Conventional panelized shelters Basic room size of our panelized shelters was 16' x 16'. Construction costs in 1970-74 ran $10/sq. ft. These houses sold faster than they were being built because of both their spaciousness and beauty. Average price (1970) was $40-60K for 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, full kitchen, fireplace, 16' x 24' living room and full deck. Today, nearly 20 years later, they still stand out as examples of energy efficient mountain homes. We estimate construction costs today to be little changed from then. We are additionally offering the R48 panels with interior and exterior finishes (or unfinished). All designs feature active and passive solar systems, radiant floor heating and other energy saving features. View some of the structures below:
